  We loved this place, especially for the price we paid. The beaches on either side are wonderful and we had them essentially to ourselves and the pool was an added bonus, especially for the kids. The entire condo complex felt like our home with drinks at the pool, dinners on the lanai, etc. The condos are particularly large but it was fine for our family of four with the living room sofa bed.

  Our time at Hale Kai in unit 118 was everything we could have dreamed of and more. The unit was nicely updated with a phenomenal view of the pool and ocean beyond. The lanai was our favorite place to hang out, whether it be eating our breakfast and lunch while listening to the waves or reading and relaxing in the cozy chairs with foot rests. The unit is close to the laundry which is an added bonus. The unit also gets a great breeze that blows through and cools the unit down. Our kids slept on the sofa bed and slept great all week. The unit was clean, had the necessities we needed in the kitchen, and fulfilled our needs. The staff we interacted with was kind, helpful, and attentive. This was our first family trip to Maui and our first time staying at Hale Kai and I can guarantee we will be back!

  My fiance and I loved our recent stay at Hale Kai Oceanfront Condominiums. So much so that we barely left the property during our 10-day stay, as it had everything we needed, and what we didn't have was within walking distance. We saw sea turtles daily, as well as a sea lion twice, right from the privacy of the Hale Kai pool. We are already planning our return next year. Highly recommend.

  This is our 2nd time staying at Hale Kai & it for sure won't be the last! Our condo was well appointed, comfortable and just steps from the pool or the ocean! We watched or swam with turtles everyday, and even got to watch a couple of young whales playing in the distance one afternoon. The community at Hale Kai is made up of condo owners, repeat guests and first timers. It's friendly, welcoming and helpful. If you're around at sunset, you'll get to watch the "conch ceremony" and get welcomed by the conch blowing when you arrive and wished ALOHA by the conch blowing on your last night. Sunsets are unbeatable here. The management is great and you are close enough to so many restaurants, sights and activities. We can't wait to go back!

  Love the walkout to the pool with the ocean and islands off into the distance. With the low number of units we were always able to get a spot by the pool. Location is great for an easy walk for food. Looking forward to coming back someday. Would stay here again!

  Our family of 4 stayed in this cute 1 bedroom condo right on the beach with perfect sunset views that were even more spectacular given that our Lanai faced the ocean with Molokai and Lanai in the distance. The bed and even the sofa bed were very comfortable. There were beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and even a cooler available for us to use on our outings, also snorkeling equipment. The tvs had Netflix and other channels for our viewing pleasure. The only thing I would change to make things better would be to change the Lanai furniture to seating for four with a bigger table to be able to eat outside. As it us now only 1-2 people can comfortably eat on the table because the table is so small, and it is bar height with stools so not user friendly for eating meals on or lounging, even though there are 3 stools and 2 lower chairs, not conducive to allow for enjoying the Lanai. Also need more towel hooks for drying towels. Other than that the condo was clean and we had 2 beaches on either side to enjoy, saw turtles almost every day. Will definitely be back next time we are in Maui.

  We have stayed at Hale Kai 5 times so far and are in love with the location and down to earth feel of the complex. It has an amazing pool and a beach on either side. This is our first time in #118 and it was clean and worked for our family. With having young kids, we like being on the ground level in the front building and this was a perfect location. It would be nice to have more hooks in the bedroom, bathroom and outside. Some features were updated in the unit and some were a little older, but you are literally on the ocean, so how can you complain! We already booked our stay next year, our family has grown so we are going to try a bigger unit.

  Overall this is a great property and the photos were accurate. We had very rainy weather that prevented us from keeping all the windows open, so it got quite warm in the unit. Understand it would be difficult to retrofit an old building with A/C but a window unit in the bedroom would have made a much more pleasant experience. The only other watchout is that if you're looking for a place where you can walk on the beach, this is not it. The erosion is pretty severe in this area and there's only a sliver of beach that's boxed in by sharp rocks. However, the view from the patio and pool are great and we saw many whales.

  We love the Hale Kai. Location..location! However, I would like to adress the condition of the units. Our friends stayed in another unit and both of our units had very dirty floors. It is customary in Hawaii to remove shoes when inside, our feet were black. We both had to use the Swifer device to addtionally clean our floors so we could walk around without shoes inside. Not something I want to do while on vacation. Please take note of your cleaning procedures. Maybe some quality control would be good? was a perfect stay. Thank you!

  The entire rental experience was seamless! Renting the condo on the website was easy. A few days before they sent us all the info to get into the condo, but what worked best was we were having baby gear delivered to the condo before we arrived and there were no issues giving the company access to the condo so they could set up everything in preparation for our arrival.   My family and I spent 6 beautiful days in Maui earlier this month and we stayed at the Hale Kai. This was not my first time staying her-I'd stayed there years ago. It was as beautiful as I remembered it. I love how close our condo was to the pool-since we have kids it was easy to keep an eye on them. The other guests were super nice and so was the office staff. The condo itself was very nice-had some upgrades to that was a plus. I love that it had a TV in the bedroom which most condos don't have. The condo is across the street from a Coffee Shop, a Hispanic market and a Farmers Market/Store. It's only a drive to Ka'anapali and to Lahaina. Over all it was an awesome stay at the Hale Kai and I highly recommend it to others!

  Overall we were satisfied with this property mainly due to its location close to Kaanapali Beach and Kapalua. Outdoor markets were close by as was grocery stores etc. We did feel that the unit would benefit from some maintenance investment.   We booked our stay at Hale Kai partially because it was right on the ocean and partly due to all the positive reviews it had received.
  
  We arrived late at night and had no issues getting into the unit. When we awoke we were blown away by the view, and loved the little private beach steps away from our unit.
  
  The location was great, you can't beat oceanside and it was nice being away from the crowds of Lahaina and the Kaanapali resorts. There was a great little coffee shop across the street, along with an outdoor farmers market and snorkel/SUP rental shop. A few more minutes down the road offered a few good eateries.
  
  The unit itself was great. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare your own meals or pack lunch or snacks to go.
  
  The bathroom was a bit small but an overhead cabinet provided much needed storage space to keep things out of the way.
  
  All the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. The check in office even had a selection of games and movies you could borrow free of charge.
  
  We would definitely stay here again!

  Loved the office and maintanence workers, so friendly and helpful. I love that there is on site managers who respond immediately to any concerns, even if you need a light bulb!   We enjoyed our vacation very much. The property was recommended by a friend who had stayed several times. The location was perfect for our activities. By far our favorite was sitting on the beach and watching the turtles right there at the condo. Visited a friend in Kihei their condo was nice as well but not right on the beach so used a public park for beach access. Preferred ours by far. Will definitely refer this condo and stay there again.   We had a great view of the ocean from are lanai, people at the hale Kai were all great only thing I did not approve of is 118 needs a little tlc,the kitchen needs to be updated

  I wanted to have a holiday where I did nothing but relax, enjoy quiet time with my wife and feel like a local. This was my first holiday in Maui. Our travel agent knew of the Hale Kai Oceanfront Condiminiums through her clients. Both my wife and I have hectic schedules so this seemed to be ideal for us. I love this place and I will return again and again. I live ojn the beach in Narrabeen so I always gravitate towards ocean getaways. I swam every Day a family of turtles which was a,axing. We went to the nearby Farmers Market to but fresh produce like mangoes, papaya, avocado, tomoato and bannanas. We went for long relaxing walks. Drove through the mountains, visited the shops at Front Street but mostly we just lounged around the pool, sat on the lanai and soaked up the ambience of this beautiful place. I will return and next time I will stay longer for sure.

  While the weather was not typical Hawaii weather, we had a very relaxing spring break vacation. This is our 4th time to stay at the Hale Kai and we LOVE the location. The other guests were very welcoming as well with "mini receptions" every evening at sunset.

  Loved our stay at the Hale Kai! We originally booked 206 but due to construction they moved us to 120 (and later to 118). Would highly recommend 118, and really any of the units in that building. Can't beat the view, or the price.

  We arrived on Sunday night and there was a note on the step about a patio pray that evening. We went to the patio party and had a great time. The folks that live there and the other renters were great. We met some nice people.
  
  The unit we rented was nicely remodeled - ground floor by the pool.
  The location is excellent. The sunsets are awesome. We would definitely stay here again.

  Great. We stay in same unit every year. Love the tile floors. Kitchen is just right. Bath room especially nice. Would like to have Pac 12 network on TV for West coast games. Think other units would like that too. Over all we love the unit. Valerie is special. Does a wonderful job with all clients. Liz too. Our stay yearly is about five weeks.   Had a great time at Hale Kai! It felt like I was at home even though we were there only 5 days and the view was incredible. The staff was very friendly and so helpful! Seeing the turtles come up on the beach and the amazing rainbow on Christmas morning made it even more special. I would highly recommend Hale Kai!

  Hale Kai is the perfect location for a quiet, low-key vacation experience. Beautiful view, waterfront location, local outdoor market, friendly staff and guests. Our stay in Unit 118 was delightful. Kitchen and bath were newly updated, access to pool and bbq area is very convenient. Sea turtles abound in the waters just steps from the door. A great spot!
